Why this horror writer is probably turning over in his grave

HP Lovecraft is a writer who published horror stories in the early 20th century.

He has an extremely literary, descriptive, almost pedantic style of writing.

As his name suggests, he evidently "loved the craft" of writing, and took great pains and care to tell horror stories with a descriptive style matched by few other authors in the genre.

The other night, my wife and I watched a movie inspired by his writings called HP Lovecraft's The Deep Ones.

Rather an ironic title, the movie never gets all that deep.

It's not so much that this movie is low budget, which can sometimes add to the character of a film in a positive way. It's just a really, really bad movie.

Bad acting, bad plot, bad character development. Just bad.

It's enough to horrify the horror writer himself, if he were still alive.

Without getting into creative license and copyrights and all of that, this movie got me thinking about how important it is to control the legacy you leave behind.

If I had seen The Deep Ones before being exposed to Lovecraft's written stories, I doubt I'd be much encouraged to explore them.

Anywho, this is partly why I'm passionate about helping people control the perception they leave behind - not just the property they leave to their loved ones, but also their values, wishes, and creative legacy.

You can do this through this low-cost trust I can prepare for you, that will grow with you as you grow.
